Canadian history books fail to mention the presence of people of African descent even though they have been living in Canada since the early 1600s. There is little mention of the fact that slavery once existed in the territory that is now Canada. These google slides provide students with an opportunity to learn about slavery in Canada, its abolition, and “Black Canadians” who have made Canada their home for more than four centuries and how they have left their mark on our history.
